According to the calculation of the China Society of Circular Economics, by 2013, China had produced about 20.7 million tons of waste textile social stock, of which 13.77 million tons of chemical fiber, accounting for 68% of the total stock, 5.62 million tons of cotton fiber, accounting for 28% of the total stock, and the comprehensive utilization of waste textiles was 3 million tons. If the above items are fully utilized, it is equivalent to saving 3.8 million tons of crude oil and 3.4 million mu of arable land.
Calculations by the China Renewable Resources Association show that the recycling rate of waste clothing in my country is less than 10%, and the idle and wasted chemical fibers and cotton fibers have used up half of the Daqing oil field in a year. If these waste textiles are recycled, they can also reduce carbon dioxide emissions by more than 8000 million tons.
The reporter learned that the establishment of a recycling system for waste textiles has been clearly proposed in the "Twelfth Five-Year Plan" of the textile industry, but so far, recycling has not formed a very complete system.
"In the 13th Five-Year Plan that is being prepared, this will definitely become a focus of our entire textile industry." China Textile Federation said.
It is reported that the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology issued a document in May this year to explore a new mechanism and model for the development of the comprehensive utilization of renewable resources such as waste textiles, and encourage outstanding enterprises in the industry that meet the requirements of national policies and regulations to participate in major demonstration project activities, and give full play to the leadership of demonstration projects. effect. Industry insiders believe that during the "13th Five-Year Plan" period, it is expected to organize pilot demonstrations of resource recycling and reuse, cultivate leading enterprises, and establish parks and industrial bases for the reuse of waste textiles under the guidance of government planning. Relevant measures will contribute to the establishment of a recycling system for waste textiles.
