Views on changing the use of shuttle looms to simple rapier looms. (1) The basic situation of the original shuttle loom in our country is very poor, the five major motion mechanisms are not perfect, and the simple rapier loom basically only changes the weft insertion part, so although the speed is slightly higher than the old loom, the weft yarn can be extended to some products. In addition, the fatal weaving defect of the shuttle loom in the warp direction has not been fundamentally solved, and there is no guarantee for the improvement of product quality;

(2) Enterprises using this loom have just entered the field of weaving, and their economic strength is limited to a certain extent., The scale will not be very large, the second is that the product grade is not high, and the third is the lack of production experience. After a period of production and capital accumulation, many enterprises will further upgrade their products and looms. There are many examples of this type;

(3) With the acceleration of the country's reform and opening up, the comprehensive strength of the national economy has increased, the country has the ability to produce foreign medium and high-end looms, the equipment is also very complete, and the price is only 1/3 to 1/2 of similar foreign products. Textile enterprises that can produce medium and high-end fabrics also have the ability to update and transform. However, it is not excluded that within a certain price range, the possibility of increasing the quality assurance function of such looms can be improved.

The development and production of domestic rapier looms began in the late 1960 s, mainly with the MAV rigid rapier looms of French SACM(SACM) company. The model is in the raw cotton, wool, silk, hemp (jute) industry has a woven machine converted. From the late 1970 s to the early 1980 s, industrial, yarn-dyed and silk-woven rigid rapier looms were produced and applied in large quantities.
